The following are images that I created during an Illustration and print-making workshop at UAL Camberwell. This was a 3-day workshop led by Professor Jhinuk Sarkar, with assistance from my professor and program leader, Briar Levit. The first day of the workshop was dedicated to exploring Sensory Experience related to illustration, and then practice with reverse, ink transfer printing, freehand.
The following are illustrations I created during our Workshop Day #2, based on our learning and understanding of PAREIDOLIA- which is the finding of figures and faces in other things.
I envisioned an archway of dumpsters and a window as robots, arguing. We also further manipulated our prints from our previous workshop. (Original window and hallway both pictured below the illustrations).
I had the honor to participate in a private workshop with Sarah Hyndman, Founder of Type Tasting:
In the image below, my sketchbook is top right… Blackletter "S" and a curvy "M."
The below images are of a typography-based personality assessment that Sarah Hyndman did during her workshop. We all chose a name tag upon our arrival at the start, and they were labeled with various different fonts. We were free to choose as we wanted. (Our options are shown in the image below. This is an image I captured when the meaning of what we had chosen was finally revealed to us at the end of the workshop.)
I cannot argue with my own Typography-Personality assessment, at all.
I also experimented, and learned a LOT of different skills behind the camera lens.
While on our trip, Professor Briar Levit assigned us the task of challenging ourselves to do immersive research on a location or neighborhood of our choosing, within the London area, and to then create a small ZINE publication about that chosen location. Typography, layout, image, overall design, and the ability to mass-produce the ZINE were all things that we needed to show intentional focus and consideration for.

I chose to spend an entire day at the Leake Street Arches, which is a LEGAL GRAFFITI ZONE, open to the public, any time of day, located under the Waterloo District, and near the Waterloo Underground Station. At about 4pm a lot of loading dock style doors under the Arches open up to reveal amazing pubs and clubs inside. There is a culture in the arches surrounding the Graffiti and Art scene. Many pieces created by notable Graffiti artists can be found in the Arches, and they change ALL the time. I spent a day there, doing my OWN Graffiti and some lettering, talking to different artists and workers in the Arches who were there doing various things, and a notable sized crowd formed around me while I painted; I was able to talk to people who were viewing my work and my process, and answer their questions. The following images are the photographs that I took there, pictures of my own graffiti piece, a time-lapse video of myself painting said graffiti piece, and ultimately, images of the ZINE that I made. It's quite the adventure. CHEERS!
The following image is one of my edits for my ZINE, with typography added to read:  "There is no order here." For my ZINE content, I focused on incorporating things that people said in my conversations with them while I was in the Arches for the day. I edited those various statements and ideas into different photographs for the overall layout, combining Digital Typography with images of Graffiti.
My final ZINE is a double-sided and printed A3 sheet, meant to be folded into a pocket-sized document. This is rationalized by how transient graffiti artists have to be, at all times, to be able to paint and move on quickly. No particular order is necessary to navigate looking at the folded ZINE, just as there is no particular order to taking in the Leake Street Arches. It has a stylish cover fold, designed from several edited photos that I took while I was there. I included many different types of Display fonts… because a lot of Graffiti consists of lettering literally created specifically for Display. I also wanted to blend and fit digital type into the photographs that I took, as a mixed-media expression of my experiences in the Arches.
The following are some pictures from our Sign Writing workshop with Wayne Tanswell:
I also had the honor of being one of the first ever people to see and use the HP Spark Software that has been created by Oswin Tickler and HP Indigo, and is currently in testing stages. This is a picture of me, happily blending in with the incredible and colorful work at Oswin's gallery opening the night before our private workshop at Fedrigoni, UK.
Oswin himself even seemed to appreciate how we matched- haha.
This software is generating a lot of conversation about the future of coding and digital, visual design. It even caught the attention of EYE Magazine.
